What the Ideation Programme provides
The HKSTP Ideation Programme gives early-stage founders seed funding of up to HK$100,000 plus mentorship over roughly a year, to help turn an innovative idea — including an AI one — into a prototype or venture.
Who it suits
It is open to Hong Kong ID holders aged 18 or over with an innovative idea, and suits very early-stage founders rather than established businesses adopting an off-the-shelf AI tool. Note that the Technology Voucher Programme (TVP), Hong Kong’s best-known SME tech-adoption funding, stopped accepting new applications after 31 December 2024 — so it is not an active route for a new AI project, despite many older blogs still listing it.
